6BC consists of QC laboratories and offices, established in a pre-existing building, with a long, wide main body. The overarching idea is to create contemporary laboratories and offices with associated facilities in bright surroundings.
Daylight is drawn into the center of the building by utilising glass doors in circulation areas and glass walls in conference rooms. The conversion contains two floors, with offices and laboratories closely connected and distributed on each floor. The central core is used for storage, support laboratories, noisy equipment as well as non-permanent workspaces. The central building is laid out for conference rooms and an informal meeting space with a café/kitchenette, where one can meet across departments.
The laboratories meet GMO1 requirements focusing on ease of cleaning and a good working environment in a simple and functional design.
