Newly renovated research laboratories at UCPH, Arctic Station i Qeqertarsuaq put into use
RH ARCHITECTS has been responsible for renovating and optimizing the existing research laboratories on the 1st floor of Eva and Nils Koppel's building from the 1960s. These labs are primarily used for preserving and examining samples and data from the field in central West Greenland, with drying or chemical preservation being the main methods used. Studies conducted in these labs involve analysis of various samples, materials, and data.
The Arctic Station, operated by the Faculty of Science at the University of Copenhagen, serves as a field station to promote research and teaching related to bio- and geo-issues in the Arctic.
The renovation and conversion of the main building, along with the construction of a new shed, are ongoing under a framework agreement with Dissing+Weitling as turnkey consultants, and WSP serving as engineers on the project.
